Foothills Podiatry, P.A., provides medical and surgical services for diseases of the foot and ankle, including in-office surgery, outpatient surgery and in-office vascular testing for all ages. Drs. Jeff Mauney and Ron Maskarinec have hospital privileges at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Kings Mountain Hospital, Cleveland Regional Hospital and Cleveland Ambulatory Services, an accredited facility in Shelby that specializes in outpatient surgery and endoscopy procedures. The practice accepts Medicare, Medicaid and almost all commercial insurance plans.

Office Hours
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. to Noon

Appointments
Patients should arrive about 30 minutes prior to an appointment. If there is an emergency or other unforeseen circumstances, the staff will inform patients about delays. Patients who have waited more than 30 minutes past an appointment time should advise the receptionist.

Prescriptions
Patients with expired prescriptions should call the office and notify one of the podiatric assistants. Calls received before 3:30 p.m. will be returned that same day; calls received after 3:30 p.m. may not be returned until the following day. NOTE: Narcotic prescriptions will only be called in during office hours.

After-hours Calls
Patients can reach both doctors 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the office phone number.

Emergencies
The doctors usually see a patient with an emergency the same day the patient calls.

Staff
Billie Brackett, medical transcriptionist and receptionist, joined in 1993. She lives in Lawndale, NC.
Karla Cline, office manager, has been with the office since 1978. A resident of Lawndale, NC, she is responsible for account receivables and insurance.
Kelly McDaniel, podiatric medical assistant, joined the staff in September of 2003. She recevied her Podiatry Radiology Cetificate (certified through NC Foot and Ankle Society) in 2007. She lives in Shelby, NC.
Angela Tallent of Shelby, front receptionist, has been with the office since 1999.
Debbie Walker, podiatric medical assistant, joined the staff in 1979. She attended Kings College and received a Certified Medical Asstant Diploma. In 1991, she also received a Podiatry Radiology Cetificate. Debbie is from Swainsville, NC.

Dr. Ron Maskarinec, D.P.M

Dr. Ron Maskarinec is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and attended Alderson-Broaddus College and Youngstown State University, graduating in 1981. He completed his master's program at Youngstown State University and graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1989. He completed his podiatric surgical residency in the Winston-Salem/Greensboro area and moved to Shelby to join Foothills Podiatry. A past president of the Life Enrichment Center in Shelby, he's also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Third and Fourth Degree; a member of the Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association; and an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He and his wife Dolly have three college-age children.
